If you're looking to add a little bit of sparkle to your life, read on for a step-by-step guide to making your own sequin pillow!

Step 1: Gather the tools

You will need a few supplies before you get started on this project. Firstly, you will need a sewing machine and some thread. Secondly, you will need a pillow form or an old pillow to use as stuffing. Thirdly, you will need a piece of fabric large enough to cover the pillow form. Fourthly, you will need sequins in the color of your choice. Fifthly, you will need a hot glue gun and glue sticks. Sixthly, you will need scissors. Lastly, you will need a ruler or measuring tape.

Step 2: Cut out two circles of fabric

You’ll need two circles of fabric for each pillow. Use a rotary cutter and mat for clean, straight cuts. If you don’t have a rotary cutter, you can use scissors. Trace a large bowl or plate onto the wrong side of the fabric to make your circles. Cut out the circles, then cut each one in half so you have four semi-circles.

Step 3: Layer your circles together

You will need two layers of batting and one layer of fabric. Place the fabric wrong side up on your work surface. Center the batting on top of the fabric and pin in place. Add the second layer of batting on top of the first and pin in place.

Step 4: Sew together your layers

Now it's time to start sewing! Begin by sewing the two outside pieces of fabric together, right sides facing. Then, sew the two lining pieces of fabric together, also right sides facing. Next, place the lining inside the pillowcase, matching up all the raw edges. Finally, sew around the entire perimeter of the pillowcase, leaving a small opening for turning.

Step 5: Admire your creation, then fill with stuffing

You did it! You now have a beautiful, sparkly pillow that is sure to add some pizzazz to any room. But before you can start using it, you'll need to stuff it with stuffing. Luckily, this is a quick and easy process. Simply take a bag of stuffing and insert it into the pillow through the opening at the bottom. Once the pillow is full, simply sew the opening shut and admire your handiwork!

Can I sell my pillows?

Of course! Handmade sequin pillows are a hot commodity, and there are a few ways you can go about selling them. You could open an Etsy shop, sell them at local craft fairs, or even set up a website of your own. Just be sure to price your pillows competitively and take good pictures so potential buyers can see what they're getting.
